e often call buying a business a shortcut.

A shortcut into an established brand, into revenue, customers, employees.

And shortcuts are great, especially when time is of the essence.

Today's guest Maurice Thomas found himself in his early 60s, semi-retired.

But involuntarily so.

So rather than ride off into the sunset, Maurice decides to jump back into his career.

This time, by buying a business.

Maurice and his partner acquired a 30-year-old, 30-employee electrical contracting business with nearly $5m in revenue and $1m in SDE.

To me, Maurice's story is a great example of one of my favorite parts of buying a business:

That when you might otherwise feel stuck, the revelation that you can go out & buy a business unlocks a whole universe of possibility.
